With so many wedding venues in Orange County it can be hard to chose which one to get married at. That is why it’s always nice when a new venue pops up; it gives wedding planners a chance to work with a fresh, new “canvas.”
I first discovered The Greenhouse at Plantender’s Nursery on Instagram back in December 2019 (feels like forever ago lol), and I immediately reached out to see if they were interested in collaborating in a styled shoot. I sent a hopeful email and they quickly got back to me with a yes! Next thing I knew we were discussing all the little details and setting up a time for me to tour the venue.
Back in the hills of Silverado Canyon, the nursery is run by husband and wife team, Laurie and Mary Ellen Park. Founded in 1977, the nursey sits on the Old Gano Walnut Farm where they have created a thriving business serving Orange County with landscaping needs and years of plant knowledge to go around.
Growing up on the farm/nursery, their daughter, Laurie Ellen, always dreamed of turning it into a wedding venue, and in 2019 her dream became a reality. Since then she and her parents have been busy transforming the quaint property into a lush wedding venue. As you walk onto the property you immediately see the greenhouse on your left with a huge space for your reception area. The rest of greenhouse is filled with cute succulents and luscious tropical plants as you move toward the back. Outside of the greenhouse is three different buildings: the drink stand, the groom's suit, and the bridal suit. Adding to the rustic charm of the property, the bridal suite is actually what used to be the farmhouse. Inside it showcases the original hardwood floors and has plenty of room for your bridal party to get ready. As you walk down the steps from the farmhouse, you come to a large and open area under pepper trees and twinkling lights: the ceremony space. It’s the perfect spot to say your vows as you get a grand view of the entire property and all the plants that the nursery has to offer. All in all, The Greenhouse and Plantender’s Nursery is a fun and new spot that is sure to wow your guests. With so much greenery it does not require much décor to make your wedding day beautiful. In fact for a small labor fee you can even use the potted plants as your decor to line the aisle as you walk down or to make your reception space come to life. There are plenty of photo opportunities around the property – from the plants to the peacocks, Pavo and Real. It definitely warrants a tour with Laurie Ellen to see all that the property has to offer. She is so passionate about her venue and gives 110% to helping her couples create their big day, which is why it was such an honor working with her and many other talented vendors to help showcase her new venue.
